COALITION AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA
April 16, 2008
Day of Silence is on Friday, April 25. We will be doing tabling sometime that week to
raise awareness about it. Also, we discussed the idea of putting tape (duct, masking)
over our mouths to make a more visible statement.
We talked about possibly changing the name for the group. Several members argued that
the words "coalition against" imply an "us vs. them" sort of mentality, which might be
dissuading some of our non-queer allies from participating or feeling comfortable
attending meetings. Also, we want the name to make people of all sexualities and genders
to feel welcome.
Be sure to go see Staceyann Chin perform at Coffeehouse on Friday at 7:30!

Danielle presented an idea about creating a lit mag that would publish literary and artistic works about issues relating to sexuality. If you have any questions, etc., about this, please contact Danielle.

COALITION AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA
February 21, 2008
At this meeting we discussed possible themes for Drag Fest and decided that the theme
will be cartoon heroes.
Another thing discussed at the meeting was the presidential election and the candidates'
stances on gay marriage/civil unions, etc. None of us present seemed to know exactly
what the stance of each candidate was.
Attached is some information pulled from http://www.ontheissues.org that talks about each
candidate's stance and voting history on these issues.

-ideas for that week: column? pamphlets? discussion panel? ribbons?

-educate people on presidential candidates' stances on queer issues

-literary mag for queer youth
On another note, please come to meetings if you can, and encourage your friends to come,
